How to play BIOSHOCK in Windows 7.

Do you know this PC game? Or do you already played this game before?

Yes this is Bioshock which was released last 2007 and this is among one of the top PC games of 2007. This was published by 2K Games and developed by 2K Boston. And now Bioshock 2 is coming....
For those folks that want to play this in Windows XP. There will be no issue running this on your machine as long as your machine specifications meet at least the minimum requirements of the game.
I heard that there was an issue running this game in Windows Vista. But when I tried it in my pc using this specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon 7750 Dual Core Black Edition (2.7GHz)
Motherboard: Asus M3A78-CM
Memory: 4 x 1GB of Geil DDR 2 800MHz
Hard Disk: 500 GB Seagate
Video Card: Nvdia 8600GT 256MB - 128Bit

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 32 Bit

After installation, I ran the game and ola! I started playing without luch and even dinner just to continue the game.. hahahahaha

After I read the news that Windows 7 RTM was going to be released soon for those who have MSDN subscription, I started downloading the installer via www.msdn.microsoft.com using my MSDN subscription and started installing it on my machine clearing all I have on my Drive C:\ to make sure that the drive is clean. Theres a lot of improvement compare in the RC version last 2 or 3 months ago.

I finally installed Bioshock game to test if there's really an issue.

Insert Disc 1 then Disc 2. done :)

But when I ran the game, a message box prompt me that there was a missing dll file (d3dx9.dll) which basically looking for the previous version of the direct X. Since, am using Windows 7 and it uses DX11. I begun wondering how could I play this game in Windows 7. I tried to install DX9 and DX10 and keeps me prompting that newer version of DX is currently installed.

I keep looking at the web (THANKS Mr. Google) and read some forums, discussion about what can I do to run this game...

Then I found an installer from Microsoft site the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer.

All you have to do is to download the installer from the site (click the link above) and install it on your machine. The installer will also download all source files from the site also which takes several minutes which basically depends on your internet connection speed.

After the installation...

Buckle your seat belt and let’s get it on.

BIOSHOCK is now working in Windows 7 OS.

Hope this will help you guys.
